Great write up. Many of my great-great-grandparents were stationed in Asia with the British Empire. I'm sure they saw and did some fairly awful things. I'll look forward to the other parts of this story.

Again this is am earlier essay, but I think I might show the nuance of how imperialism worked with people more. Some of the people in this story had lots of respect for the Chinese culture and I'm not sure that always came through in my narrative. Thank you for your comment!
